Join us Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, for Riverfront Market Day where Selma’s blend of history comes alive with the sights, sounds and aromas of the Deep South.
Together with Arts Revive, the Selma-Dallas County Historic Preservation Society invites quality vendors, artisans and craftsmen to market their wares. Food vendors offer everything from spicy southern barbecue to chicken on a stick, Oriental fare, Greek salads, Polish sausage, hamburgers, turkey legs, funnel cakes and curly fries.
Experience the tunes of Dixieland, blues, Southern rock and country while you browse open-air booths piled with colorful quilts and handbags, wooden bowls and children’s toys. Shop along Water Avenue beneath wrought-iron balconies for barnwood and cedar birdhouses, baskets woven with wisteria and kudzu, monogrammed gifts, handmade jewelry, pottery and much more. If you are an artisan, crafter, or vendor and would like to take part in Riverfront Market Day, please download and complete this form.

2011 Market Day Music
Morning Music:
Performing in the center stage area will be the band called “Lower Society of Upper Water Avenue” put together by Charlie Worrell. They were the original band when Market Day started in 1971 and consists of mostly local musicians. They continue to play on with a few replacement members. Their preferred music is Dixieland, but also play some Jazz.
“The Ramblers” will perform in the Songs of Selma Park area. A 6-8 piece band with a fabulous horn section, they are a mostly a local band hosted by Dave Thomas. They play Jazz and Dixieland.
Noon Music:
Center stage will “wow” you with the “Fabulous Shades”. It’s a 10-person band with a horn section and they play all the oldies from the 60’s on up. This music will keep your toes tapping.
The well-known Selma band, “Clean Slate” will entertain you in the Songs of Selma Park. They were originally known as “Kickin’ Country” and will perform a variety of country and oldies music.
Afternoon Music:
“Vintage Gray” will energize the crowd in the center stage area. They are a 4-piece all male band playing primarily classic
rock hits of the 60′s and 70′s. This band got such rave reviews last year, that we asked them to return. Great vocals are their style as they preserve and promote the great sounds of the 60′s and 70′s.
Phillip Morgan, another favorite local, will entertain in the Songs of Selma Park. He performs Blues, Jazz, and some good Oldies.
